I suggest that Arch users should support the intellectual property rights of software authors and not use commercial software such as Draftsight in breach of the licence terms. They even fixed some long-standing bugs which I had also reported to Dassault/Solidworks, and which Dassault proceeded to ignore, since the purpose of the whole 'marketing project' was only to attract 2D users away from Autodesk and on to the Solidowrks 3D platform. I have used it in the past as that version included some scripting features not available in Draftsight.

It is easy enough to install in /opt from the tarball they ship.
The original software is available commercially/legally from Graebert as ARES Commander ( ). It is unlikely to continue to work for long, as it 'phones home' for a runtime licence, and users would be breaching the terms of the sublicence agreement which has now expired.
